    Default Kwickset Smartkey Is crap

Got locked out again, third time in a year from the lock not opening.

Lifetime warantee but this is just getting stupid.

Now I've gotta go dig out the old fashioned one and key it.

Kwikset is one of the cheapest peice of crap lock's on the market. When I was doing property managment maintenance I would replace at least one lock set a day if not more.

We've had a Schlage electronic on the front door for almost 3 years, no issues.

    Another +1 for Schlage.

The only advantage for Kwikset is that they are cheap. If you're never going to use the door they're fine. Even if you don't lock it but close the door it'll break & work loose. I have them on a couple of doors in the basement that are never closed. There was one on the fron door of my house when I moved in. it's now a Schlage since it is used a lot.

yeah, because you know we all have wads Money to pay every time we want to go in and out of our home.

    electricity and wear.
My Parents had a counterbalance springs pop, door came off of the tracks in horrific fashion taking the garage door opener with it.
They dont last forever and they are pricey when they go.

    Just saying
