Does anyone know for sure if Hunter Safety is an adequate training course for a concealed carry permit in Weld county? It says it is on the form but I've never heard of anyone using that as their training.

The county website states they will accept it.
you need to ask yourself a question.
"*IF* I am forced to use my weapon to defend myself, Will the prosecution or civil attorney use this gap in training against me."
I Suggest you go get a solid CCW Class that has deep law coverage as well as a solid range session.
There are allot of good classes out there.
Get one.
I second what Byte Stryke said. There's a lot more than how to shoot a handgun that's taught during a good CHL class.
I took my class with Jim Torrez at Tactical Skills Institute. I would definitely recommend him.

Fixed.
The legal stuff can be easily learned from your own research and legwork (all info is available to the public, and you can ask LEOs any questions you may have).
Its the training that matters. And I'm not talking about a basic CCW course that says "this is how you aim a gun, this is what you say to the cop after the incident"... I'm talking about training courses that teach you how to fight and survive the fight. Legal BS can be worried about after the fact, just use common sense before hand (i.e. don't use a full auto Uzi as your carry weapon).
Use your hunting permit to get your CCW. Then find a good training course and learn as much as you can about how and when to use what you now carry.
I'll PM you some info.
Have there actually been any cases where the training was called into question? You can have the best training in the world, and it still won't guarantee that you make good decisions. No reason NOT to get good training, but still.
"There are no finger prints under water."
Here's an excellent story that illustrates how strongly your training will be attacked, questioned, etc. during trial.
This is one of the most eye opening and unnerving things that I've read regarding CCW use.

No true Scotsman.
"When our people become fighters, our leaders will be able to sit at the conference table as equals, not dependent on the whim and the generosity of the oppressors. It will be in the best interests of both sides to negotiate just, honorable, and lasting settlements."
