    Default Finally !!!!

    16 months and finally got a job. Granted it's part time but it's a job. I was kinda surprised it took 3 interviews though for part time. I guess that shows how tough the market is.
    10 months to go for full SS benefit and this is what I needed to supplement that when I get there.
    Those of you that have been working-stay with it. It's a complete employer market right now and tough.

    Good for you! I spent over 9 months unemployed looking for a job... veterans preference my ass! Finally my dad hired me, but only P/T... it sucks but a job is a job and you gotta feel good about being gainfully (Hopefully) employed.

    I don't think Veteran's Preference has even come up during my job hunt !! One guy even asked me how I got Honorable Discharge plates on my truck
    I had no idea how to respond to that

    I hear the oil fields are hiring. May have to move for the work, or at least commute but the pay is pretty decent from what I hear.

    too be honest, now I do not feel so bad

    20 Months since my last full-time regular job.
    about 14 total Unemployed counting a few stints at temporary jobs.

    and the only places you get a vet preference is at a deployment .mil contract going right back to the 'stan or Iraq.

    and as far as how I got my Plates:
    "I Stood up and raised my right hand when my country and way of life were threatened. How'd you get yours?"
