I tried my new brand PSL at the south sight today. Great fun. This was a kit in almost untouched shape I'd had a while. I used the Romy receiver which gave me lots to do, not having a mill. Since I don't have a mill I got to spend lots of time filing. It is still a bit tight in the magwell but I still have lots of metal work left. I got the Rhineland Arms stock in maple. It gave much more length and an adjustable cheekrest. I have long arms, require tall size shirts, so I have issues with the commie munchkin standard.
The rails required lots of work. They were to tight to do anything. I left them tight since I figured it could help accuracy. I'll loosen up the rear rails since it bound way to often. Just required a tap forward. I really thought I was screwed when I got the PSL FCG installed. It held the hammer so high nothing worked. If I ground the hammer to fit I would have no hammer. I looked at a Tapco G2 set and it held the hammer way lower and the hammer was slightly shorter. It was a lot of work on the trigger and hammer but it worked! I have a 922r compliant PSL!
Lots more work to go but it will be fun since it now works. I tried the Romy sight and it really works well. I'm glad I kept the angles right fitting it. I was using surplus silver tip and here's a target at 75 yards.
The black is a 6 inch circle and I shot 60 rounds for this picture. I did change targets when I got it sighted in. I'm glad I have a bipod because I had one hand on the grip/trigger and one hand tilting my bifocals so I could focus on the sight.. What an old fart picture. It banged the heck out of the shoulders of the brass so I'll never be reloading for this.
