    Default Rattle can cammo ideas?

OK. I am thinking about doing some sort of cammo job on one of my ARs. I have watched countless youtube videos of 12 year olds spray painting their airsoft guns but am not sure I can match their skills. Anyone have any tips or tricks to turning out something that looks good? Maybe a link to some instructions? Thanks.

Larry Vickers did it on his show one episode, I dont know if there is a clip that you can watch of that or not, but maybe another option.

Are you wanting like a woodland camo or a digital camo? Foxtrot does some bad azz digital stuff, maybe see if he has any advice for ya.

Good luck and be sure to post up some pics once you do it!

Just looking for some kind of cammo pattern that looks good and is easy to apply. I gave the digital a test run and it is way too involved for me. I just don't have that kind of patience. I do plan on using woodland colors but don't really want a traditional woodland pattern. Maybe something tiger stripe? Maybe something "shadowy"? Maybe something like the ones shown below.

Very cool stuff Ray. I wish I could help you out more but I am not artistic at all. I can spray one solid color if you want help with that....

Test your skills out on some cheap lumber, you'd probably surprise yourself. Don't forget that it's not too hard to take the canvas back to blank if you're not happy.

I did a little digital camo practice on an A2 buttstock for practice. That's how I figured out what a time consuming pain that was. Not sure about the lumber idea as I would think it would soak up the paint pretty good and not give me a good representation of what I had done. But, I do have a few pieces of large PVC pipe laying around that might work good for practice. Thanks for the idea.

Do a search over on the Sniper's Hide. There are a number of how-to threads.

Looks like I better figure this painting thing out pretty quick. I think I'll have some time tomorrow to get the rifle painted up. In fact, I think I'll go get some of that blue painters masking tape right now just in case I need it.
