Default The one thing that comes to mind

Out of the "Debt Ceiling" debacle:

We have a piss poor leader of our government.
One of the most critical duties of a leader/manager is to solve problems within the corporation. To be an effective leader one must be able to take opposing points and bring them together through management skills to a balanced result.
All what this "leader" has done is further the division.

Surprised he can manage to wipe his own ass.

He's been awfully quiet since his TV appearance the other night. Makes me wonder what the hell he's up to ?

Define what you believe the minority in the current government would have to do to meet your definition of "good faith" negotiations.

President Obama told the House controlled Republicans to pass a bill and they did. The Democratic controlled Senate then shot that bill down. The Democratic controlled Senate will now pass a bill that will not make it through the Republican controlled House. President Obama will then blame the Republicans in Congress and We the People will have to decide in another year whether we are happy with the current leadership, and if not, who will we choose to lead us for another few years.

Compromise and negotiations are fine as long as you can maintain your principals. We cannot tax our way out of the current situation, and we will not be able to spend our way out of the crisis du jour. Either the President and Congress make tough choices or our creditors will make those choices for us.

As a rule, politicians rarely have faith in anything except themselves. I do not trust any politician to negotiate in "good faith." I expect them to negotiate out of their self interest.

    Well said cstone.

The only problem I have is with this statement:

"We the People" seem to have VERY short memories. Couple that with so many voters out there who are exceptionally weak-minded and wil fall for simple marketing catch phrases like "Yes I can", "Hope" and "Change". ....And as long as those getting the hand-outs continue to get the hand-outs, those in power will remain in power. Those of us who work hard for what we get and who want to keep what we earn don't have a snowballs chance at getting true representatiion.

I gave up trying to out guess the American electorate when I worked in Washington DC. There were a couple of campaigns and elections that just made my head hurt.

Fortunately, I believe there is a higher authority and since we didn't make it, we will not do anything to screw it up beyond the Makers ability to fix it.

It's happened before and it will happen again. We are to strive, learn, love, and live. If I get some target practice in along the way, what do I have to complain about?
