Why butcher the English language?

So say what you will, but yes, I'm a Facebook whore. I have a friend on there- more of an anquaintance really, who always posts crap like this:

Am i wrong for tellin my bro to just let things go? I dnt knw wat to do im so hurt i hate when people lie n break promises tht is my biggest pet peave someone help me plz!

Not to be mean, but one of my biggest pet peeves is the absolute butchering of the English language... dnt knw wat? I know what you're saying but if I was an English Teacher I'd probably have an aneurysm.

I agree, Ronin, but it's a different world. When I text my niece and nephew they always berate me, telling me that they don't want to read the novel I just wrote - and it was only a sentence, fully formed, with punctuation. It's like some crazy acid trippin' meathead took shorthand, combined it with court reporting, married it to ebonics and called it a language.
