Default An OH SH*T moment today.

I was carrying today, as usual, while taking the wife shopping. After a trip to Sportsmans and a few other places, the wife wanted to go to Wally World so we went.
After about a 1/2 hour there, we walked down the frozen foods section, and happened to glance at something inside behind one of the glass doors.
And what do you think I saw ? I saw my reflection in the glass and fund that the tail of my cover shirt was tucked in between my IWB holster and body clearly exposing the top of the slide and the entire grip on my carry gun !
I don't know how long my shirt had been this way, possibly since I left the house, but no one said anything or acted strange around me, is it possible that not a single soul noticed ?
I guess the morale of this story is either : Make sure that when you are CC'ing to be sure that your firearm is concealed. Or : That the general public as a whole is very unobservant.

    Your wife didn't notice?

I would believe that people are oblivious to what is going on around them. I carry a full size 1911. There are times when my pistol shows through or "prints" with a t-shirt covering it, and nobody notices. Takes a little bit to get used to, and with time I have become more comfortable with it.

Unless I am carrying where I am not supposed to I don't even worry about it anymore. I used to but after 10 years of packing and never being questioned I have learned most people don't pay attention and those that do are fellow ccw's that are seeing what you are carrying.

I bet the ones that notice don't care...not like we're living in California, right?

I also carry a 5" 1911 and have had this happen, usually when bending over or getting in/out the car. I try to keep the shirt tail tucked in now. No one ever noticed it exposed, or if they did didn't make a fuss.

I always make it a point to know where my shirttail is and make sure my CCW is covered up, because I'M the poor bastard that you'd see on the evening news receiving the latest clubbing from the po-po.
