Actually I think that new Ford cruiser is pretty awesome looking. Much more modern than the old Crown Vics.

The Carbon Motors vehicle is generating a lot of buzz within the LE community as it is a complete vehicle; no need to buy a vehicle, then get it painted or have colored panels placed on it, no need to equip it with a light bar and siren system, no need to add a radio and antenna system, no need to add a computer console system, no need to remove the rear seat and replace it with the plastic slider and put in a cage. No need to buy those items to put in the vehicle, no need to pay for labor to have them put in.

The resale of the vehicle would be higher and the company is talking about buy backs, refurbishments and resale of used vehicles as well.

I am very interested in seeing one in person! Those rear suicide doors are a great idea for getting arrestee's in and out of the vehicle.

BMW has stated, in conjunction with Carbon Motors, that the engine for the E7 is 30% more cost effective in operation costs, more efficient, and is being sold to Carbon Motors at a slight discount because of who the customer base is. I personally think that the E7 (and only with the BMW motor) is the most cost efficient way to go in terms of new fleet outfitting. The German Polizei gets major credit for going with the most efficient and cost effective vehicle for their operations (not to mention all around best performer)... we could learn a lot from them:

Not saying go away from American manufactured cars for PDs, but I hardly think Ford falls into all three categories (price, cost to operate long-term, performance).
