Oxycontin is NOT synthetic heroin. You are listening to BS press misinformation. Check your Pharmacology. Both heroin and oxycodone are SEMI-SYNTHETIC opioids... Coming from either morphine or thebaine- all opium based. Oxycontin is the time released version of oxycodone. Both drugs come from your poster boy country that you love because of their medical system...Germany. They invented heroin, oxycodone, zyclon b, methadone. What a great country! Synthetic heroin...try Dilaudid or Methadone.

Heroin has over twice the kick of oxycodone when mainlined but way less kick when taken by mouth...converted to morphine before it hits the brain. Oxycodone is 3-4 times as potent as morphine by mouth.

It is possible that Rush lost his hearing from acetaminophen (Tylenol) use. Narcotics DO NOT cause hearing loss!!!! Been studying narcs for 20 years and have never heard any evidence proving this. Now, if Rush was taking large doses of Vicodin/Lortab , which has acetaminophen, then hearing loss is possible. Any drug, even OTC, can cause problems.
