Because they are a spoiled union that has turned our kids in to roving morons (didn't Matt Damon say he attended public school - and look at how HE turned out). I know some excellent public school teachers, my wifes mom was one, but that doesn't change the fact that they have no accountability for doing a good job. It's our KIDS we're talking about.
I was yanked from public schools because of how bad they sucked, put into a private school, moved and had to go to public school again for one semester and they wanted to skip me 3 grades because that is the level I was at compared to other kids, my mother wouldn't let them because it would have been too socially awkward to have me that much younger than my classmates. Public schools are shafting kids - sure plenty come out excellent, but those are kids who went beyond what the school did and not the school pushing them to their potential.
