I am glad to see this posted. I cannot express how hard it is as an instructor to get accross to my students to "change" their old habits which are outdated and obsolete. When I tell fellow vets (whom I consider good friends & family) to get continued training, they tell me: "I got all the training I need from the military, I'm not wasting any money on civilian shooting schools." It makes me want to shake them until their ears fall off. I have been trying to get that piss poor attitude out of a good friend of mine who I served with for several years now.

I have lived by the principle: "The largest room in the world...is the room for improvement". You should ALWAYS strive to be a better at whatever you do. If you are a civilian CCW holder, you should be constantly striving to be more proficient with your carry gun. Everyone here knows there are A LOT of CCW holders out there who rarely train (if at all) with their gun and are more of a liability to society than an asset. My question to those of you out there who train regularly - How can we change that? Would it be a good idea to force CCW holders to meet some sort of regular qualification standards?

Thank you again for posting that story. My hats off to Paul, he is a warrior and we need more people like him. Semper Fi!
