They've had that for a while now. I think they use it for handing out Tactical Traffic Tickets...

ive actually really been thinking about buying one in a few years. they aren't that expensive really. storing them is the only problem. you can get a good one for around $30k. maintenance is an obvious problem, as is transportation. in england you can get apc's for DIRT cheap. like around $10k. its ridiculous.

It's an M-113 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC). Probably an A1 version. I drove one in Germany during my tour there. Fun to drive. The vehicle is made of aluminum, so the 'Armor' in 'Armored' has always been funny to me.
“Every good citizen makes his country's honor his own, and cherishes it not only as precious but as sacred. He is willing to risk his life in its defense and is conscious that he gains protection while he gives it.” Andrew Jackson

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

There's one of these down in Florida at Cape Canaveral that was used as part of the emergency escape procedure for manned launches. The astronauts would climb out of the ship, run across the gang way, hop into a basket, pull a lever and zip down a angled fast line to a bunker that had a M-113 in it. It was painted bright yellow.

Alright, seriously what does a local PD need with a track APC? I would think a wheeled APC would be a better use of taxpayer money.
