Yeah, I know Blasphemy but I need to make some tooling for Remmys and I don't want to use a customers rifle, besides seeing they are the most well known of the bolt guns and I am getting more and more work on them I need to step up my game a touch on them.

Uber- the crown of the barrel has a tremendous impact on the accuracy of the barrel. It is the last part of the barrel to contact the round and it needs to be perfect. A stock Remmy like this one has what is known as an 11 degree crown, meaning it is dished (recessed) at an 11 degree angle. I prefer a recessed crown, I feel the bore is protected better.

Well it has been a while since I last checked in here so an update is in order. I have not recrowned it as yet nor bedded it in the stock-just not enough hours in the day.
I have a Timney 510 trigger on the way, maybe some day I will have the time to get it all together.
I was thinking of putting a few rounds through it bone stock to establish a baseline before I start tweaking it.
What say you?

Was one of the first things I did with a PSS model (26" barrel) I bought here off the gun sales. I picked up Fed Gold Match and Black Hills Match 168s and 175s. They all shot under 3/4 MOA, the 175s were the best of the two. The BH match 175s were like magic bullets. They shot under 1/2 MOA. I set my reloads up based off of them; 175 SMKs, 44.0 gr Varget, Lapua cases, CCI LRP, 2.805 OAL I think. It shoots really nice when I can get my head out of my ass enough to dope the wind correctly (long story, yesterday was frustrating...).

Let me know when you figure out recessing the stock for the M5 badger BDM. I want to have someone do my stock PSS HS Precision with some bottom metal, but I don't want to butcher it. Been looking for someone in the area that knows how to do it and will get the install right.

Well-the Timney 510 came in today and I was thinking about a decent bolt knob.
After perusing the net and catalogs I just didnt see one that really tripped the trigger.
What to do now?

Hell with it-I made my own out of some cold rolled stressproof I had lying around.
.715 in diameter, 2.070 long-threaded 5/16th x 24 TPI (Although I may bump that out to 3/8ths x 24 TPI).
Heavy knurling.
I havent parted it off quite yet-might do a little more detail work on the end.
Got some parkerizing to do this weekend and I will park it- should look pretty good parked.
