OK...
Pizza Dough:Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup warm water. Add the flour, 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, 1 cup warm water, and salt (and other optional ingredients you desire) and knead for 10 minutes. After kneading place the dough into a large, oiled bowl covered with plastic wrap for rising. After the dough has doubled in bulk, could be up to 2 hours, punch it down and divide in two (or more depending on the size of pizzas...we did four smaller ones). We have a gas oven so the pilot is always on and the oven is relatively warm inside. The wife puts the dough in the oven and it only takes 30 to 45 minutes for it to rise.
- 1 Package Dry Yeast
- 4 Cups Sifted Flour
- Olive Oil
- 2 Teaspoons Salt
- Corn Meal (Optional: to roll the dough on)
- Sugar or Honey (Optional: Add to dough to suit your taste if you prefer)
- I like to add a little Cayenne Pepper to the dough
Let rest for 5 minutes. Have your grill ready on low heat. Form the dough into pizza crusts (you can do this on the corn meal to keep it from sticking). After the crusts are formed, place the dough on wax paper sprayed with Pam or equivalent to keep the dough from sticking.
When you're ready to start cooking, thoroughly oil the grill with olive oil. Place the dough on the grill and cook one side til nicely brown. It only took 3 or 4 minutes but we had the grill a little too hot this first time.
Turn it over and quickly spread your favorite sauce and add ingredients. You have to be kinda quick here because the dough doesn't take long to cook.
Cook until the dough is cooked through and the ingredients are melted and heated through.
Eat.
