So, are you recommending that he go to Midas to get the car checked out? I just thought it was funny that you said back in the day they were honest, but the majority of the feed back in the link you provided would suggest otherwise

I worked there in 2008 and the guys I worked with were decent guys. One or two maybe bad. Keep in mind this is 2008 though.

And I was not saying to go for a major operation. What it should entail is a test drive. Pushing all the available buttons to make sure they work, popping the hood checking all the fluids, getting it in the air looking for leaks and body damage/body work and checking brakes and steering components. Then a written estimate for everything found on vehicle. It isn't rocket science. But it runs between 80-90 bucks.

And make sure the tech shows you what he found (i.e. point at it).

ETA: Not all the shops can be like the one I ran/worked for the last two years where one out of ten reviews were bad and the rest glowing.

The interview went well, he said they will probably call me in for a second of three. Hopefully they like me. They seem to be interested in me working in Home Audio or fixing computers. I dont really care as I would enjoy either.

Also thanks for the heads up on the mechanics. Any other advice would also be great. Thanks guys!

Also these guys have a 5 star rating with 6 reviews and they do jeeps specifically and are right next door to me pretty much.

If you cant find someone you trust are willing to take it to let me know. I do not have a lift but I can give it a once over if you like.

It is amazing how many interviews you have to go through these days to get a job.

I was gonna say the same thing also. Maybe tmleader can look it over for mechanical and I can look at the body, I have been in the Auto body industry for 21 years now and I am an avid Jeep owner.

Good luck with the second interview!
