I just saw a guy drop TWO full size kegs in the dumpster the other day. I thought about grabbing them, but couldn't convince myself that they'd serve a purpose. I should have grabbed them, then asked. Heck, I should have asked him what was in them.

I have a creek 30 yards from my front door, and a large pond/small lake 200 yards away. Ain't the cleanest but that's what the pot and blowtorch are for.

And if anyone decides to use kegs to store I can help them with getting the spear out and also throughly clean the beer stank

I stack my 2-liter bottles of water in these:

I'm a homebrewer as well... so I completely sanitize my 2-liter bottles before I fill them with water with sanitizing solution... I keep 8 2-liters in each car in these and it prevents them from rolling around the trunk. Also makes Stacking the water on a pallet easy.

Good idea on using the shells as water storage! I have a couple I'm going to fill up when I get home.

I was stumped on how to get them to stop rolling around in my car because I figure they are perfect for water storage in the car (also in a pinch the water can be sanitized in the sun for several hours). I then found a place that sells em and they are less than 2 dollars each on this guy's ebay store.

Is any one storing the large 5 gallon water jugs (deep rock)? Also how long will they last. I have started collecting them and filling them.
