I also don't think we shot down the Chinook but I do think someone screwed the pooch big time on that. A chinook FULL of special forces? Going in for support? WTF were there so many SEALS on one helo going in for a support mission? A support mission. My SF buddies have told me they never went into a fight piled 30 high on one bird. Maybe they were transported to another base or location with that many on board but never into a fight. They ALWAYS took smaller birds with less men into battle. Someone desk jockey fucked up...there should never be that many SF in one easy target.
Just because you are the best does not mean that some punk cant get lucky or have good intell every once and a while. Shit happens when you get over confident. That is what happened here and anything else is nut job conspiracy theory.
