Daniel Defense upper 14.5 inch, 1/7 twist, chrome lined, Spikes lower. I think I'll stick with irons on this one, but I'm not sure what do you guys think?

That was not the two attractive females I envisioned when I clicked on the thread title. Total disappointment.
Nice gun though.
A 14.5 incher ain't built to reach out and tickle far away things, so you don't need some fancy high power optic. At CQB range, you point the gun, you don't use your sights to aim precision fire, so you don't need to worry about that. At intermediate distances, irons have been working for hundreds of years and they ain't failed yet.
I'd say irons are just fine.
This is just personal preference, but I really don't like carry handles. I think they're ugly as hell on any gun, but that's besides the point... Any optics you mount on them sit way to high to get a positive cheek weld without a stock with an adj. cheek rest that can be adjusted high enough (and even then why put one so high up over the bore when you can mount it directly to the upper rail), and I've never seen anyone use the carry handle to actually carry the gun. I just don't see the point in their existence.
But hey, its your gun, by all means do whatever you want to it.

I thought maybe you were putting up some pictures from a rock concert.
Nice rifle except for that god awful grip. (You did ask what I thought, right?) What did you do, break one of the "ears" off the lower where the trigger guard pin goes?
Please forgive my critique of your rifle. Aside from what I feel is one of the ugliest grips ever made it really is a good looking rifle.![]()
