    Default odd precussion derringers

my mothers grandfathers precussion blackpowder derringers.
marked with a proof stamp of a crown over the letter C, and under that is an oval proof mark with the letters eic or elc.
have two, kinda big bores , one works and one does not.
Okay so a good gent told me these are trapper pistols in .44 made in england. guess the letters inside the oval are just letters representing a certain armory or place where it was made " kinda like the tang stamp on a stiletto knife". sometimes there are proof markings on things like this that can be traced to nobile dignitarys kingdoms etc
