Just to clarify, I am not really worried about anything happening. Just seems like of all the times to pick to fly the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks seems like a strange day to book a flight.

Did she get a good price?

Only two things I care about when I have to fly: How much and how early.

Regardless of where you depart from and where you fly to, the later the flight is in the day, the odds increase you will be delayed, bumped, or canceled. If given the choice, I would almost always rather drive. I am flying to Baltimore on September 10th, but that is because the fare was cheaper on Saturday than Sunday.

I hope your wife has a good trip.

Probably right. That would be too obvious. Probably will be some big biological or chemical attack of some sort. Probably contaminate the water supply in a major city with millions of people.

Most domestic terrorism is anniversary centric; OK city bombing was anniversary of Branch Dividian raid. Stuff like that. Some of the older europian terrorist groups were anniversary centric, some were not. South American terrorist organizations, well who cares...

Al Qaeda, absolutely NOT anniversary centric. They never use dates as a significant factor for their planning or attacks. Makes sense though when you think about it. Their calendar is different than ours. Shes safer flying on the anniversary than any other day IMO.

Al Qaeda absolutely loves to repeat it's tactics of a successful attack. Consistently over the last 10 years, al Qaeda has shown that once a tactic is successful, they will try to reproduce the attack. This stems mostly from the higher echelon planners being able to train new sacrificial retards through rote memorization.

I wouldn't worry, the TSA is on the job!

She's still safer on a plane than driving in a car.

I will say, airline probably ok, but that date, there is intelligence out there that suggests that AQ wants to do some sort of attack on the 10th Anniversary, but there is nothing to suggest what/where/how yet. Will we be on our toes a little more that day? Yes. But I agree that air travel has become such a pain in the ass that terrorists will be less likely to try that (they probably hate the TSA as much as us!). Seeing as how 9/11 falls on a Sunday this year, I would be more worried about a church or some other type of Judeo/Christian/Catholic facility being attacked (target of opportunity type of thing).
All in all, don't worry too much... no need to press her to change the flight- that's a bit costly anyway.
