Default Schwan's Foods - Route Driver

On a whim about a month ago I applied for a route driver position with Schwan's.

Out of the blue I got a call from one of the sales managers asking me to come in for an interview.

Does anyone know anything about this company? I haven't read a lot of good things, so far. But, it's the internet and who knows what to believe?

One of the common threads seems to be that the days are long and the drivers are servicing routes until 9pm or later.

Just curious if anyone has any first-hand insight.

A freind did it for a few months. It was like very long hours. The money depended on the route you work.

I've talked to the driver on my moms route and he said the first two years are long and hard(perverts need not to comment) but once you figure out your route, you could make $80k-$120k a year with bonus'(not sure of the plural here)!! Plus I think they're food is great!

My neighbor across the street has been a route driver for Schwan for the last couple of months and I haven't heard him complain.

I have heard the same-the first couple years are a biatch but after that it gets better and it sounds like some real $ potential if you are a hustler.

    Good luck!

BP, why do you always leave yourself open to derogatory comments ?
I'll be nice and let it go.

I used to flag the schwans driver down to see what overstocks were on his truck, cash sale, don't know if it went into his pocket or back to the company.
It was all quality stuff though.

A buddy of mine worked for Holiday foods. Schwans bought their company a few years ago.

He said they treated him well.

We have a schwans guy that comes through our neighborhood about 1x a week. He's rung the door bell a couple times, and I've had a brief discussion with him (I also sell food). He seems to like his job, but I got the impression he wasn't making a ton of money

I've known my Schwanns driver for about 10 tears. He's been workin for them for about 3 years. He told me he liked the job and has been treated well. Has to work some long hours but not every day, depends on where his route takes him. He told once you learn your route and the shortcuts, it gets a lot easier. Don't know what it pays though.

This could be total bs but I had heard you have to purchase all of your stock from the company and then resell it. Like I said I could be wrong but that would suck.
