Whoa bro (Kazoo), you must have missed the much more sturdy fence to the left with very thick forest, not to mention getting on top of that building would have bought them days of time.

Walker infiltration would have been much less dense given the thickness of the forest. Going onto the roof would be an eventual death sentence, BUT they have a radio and that would buy a lot of time. They could radio in a distraction once everyone else regroups. Possibly find a way into and out of the building, etc.

Ever run in a wooded area, w/out someone chasing you? Now imaging unknown number of assailants, unknown direction AND unknown way to run. You saw what happened to Michione and company. They had a vague clue where they were . Glen was more worried about that boat anchor who ended up eating a muzzle than himself. You want to drag that around in as you described "the thickness of the forest"
