I hate to say most of the parts to build one like it are no longer out there.

The upper receiver is a WAC and is aluminum. The lower is a DSA lightweight along with their aluminum top cover. The magwell adapter, barrel and bolt came from Vern of HPF gunsmithing in Utah. I do not know if he is still around since he had some serious issues with his eyes 6 years ago.

The WAC aluminum receiver was made for .308 and they promptly were destroyed by the design of the Fal. Many were bought and then put away. They show up on the Falfiles and Gunbroker now and then for $200-$300.

It was set up at first for PPS43 mags. This caused issues for 4-5 years. I then switched it to modded PPS41 mags and it is a happy camper. It still has it's moments but is a blast to shoot.

I guess I spent about $800 back in 2004 when I did it. It only cost $350 or so to build a .308 Fal back then. I did this just because. The parts were available and Vern had just come out (along with Rihnelander) some magewell adapters to turn the cheap Fal kits into other things.

Back then we built them in almost everything. .308, .243, .223, 7.62X39, 50 Beowulf, 458 socom, 45acp, 9mm, 38 super, and 7.62X25.

I have shot it out to 200 yards and it stays in the black. It rings a 8" gong at 100 all day long.
