Apparently the guys who stole everything out of my truck yesterday do car audio. Took my dash apart nicely and everything. If you can find them, I'd love to meet them.
That being said, I used to be really big into car audio. Haven't really kept up with it in the last 5 years or so.
What's your question?

"I have to return some video tapes"
Well I am used to listening to like my bose home speakers and although the speakers in my new honda are not of bad quality, they are not up to par and listening to good quality music while im driving is something I really need to have. Also, the headunit I have is nice but I hate having CD's and would prefer using my ipod. So I would really like to step up the headunit and speakers, however i have no inclination to have an amp or subs in my trunk. So I was really just looking for anyone who does such work or has done such a thing to their car.
Thanks.
Sounds like a nice deck and some quality speakers would do just fine for you. I put a simple set up in my wife's 2010 Nissan Rogue and it sounds awesome. 100% better than the stock crap and no amp or subs or anything.
Hmm. Maybe if it happened sometime between September 11th and the 18th. Other than that week my schedule is pretty booked up.
I recommend ordering your stuff from Crutchfield. They have good prices and will throw in all of the installation gear and instructions for free. their customer service is top notch as well.
People on the honda forums have said that as well, but that they are over priced, but with the added guides and installation gear it kinda evens out ya know?
I bought a head unit from Crutchfield and installed it in my F150 myself. It was a snap. I had a couple questions as I was doing it and called their customer service for assistance. The 2 people I spoke to were very helpful and knowledgeable. So I was very pleased with their customer service. However I am not at all happy with the unit I purchased. It is a Clarion unit which the sales person highly recommended. I was mainly upgrading because I wanted a unit with an AUX input jack for sirius radio and a usb for my iphone. This unit does not work well at all with the iphone. You can't control the ipod with the phone only with the head unit and it does not work very well. I will probably end up buying a different unit. So I would say a +1 for Crutchfield customer service. But I would really research the unit before buying. I would not buy another unit that doesn't allow control from the ipod.
Clarion is supposed to be trash according to my audio friends. Im probably going to go with a Pioneer or Alpine. Its matching that with speakers thats the problem. As for the quality Im aiming for I may need an amp. I havent had to work with wiring in 3 years and I need it installed professionally but dont know who to trust.
