I would go handle a few 556's before you went out and bought one. A friend of mine recently got a 556, its the biggest abortion I have ever held in my life. Its a front heavy pig due to the piston design and the sidefolding stock helps in NO way to balance it out.

The trigger was one of the worst I have ever felt also, there is no reset to it, it utilizes a "plunger" it looks like and feels a few pounds heavier than an AR trigger.
