I had laser PRK done in 1998 and it had to be "re-touched" in 2005, but I've been very happy with my decision to do it. I'm just now noticing that I have to push things farther away to read them, so my age is beginning to affect my vision. I've been told they will be able to fix that as well in the coming years.

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Yep...I had it done in 98 as well. Doc offered me the "one eye near, one eye far" option and I declined and just went for the distance correction. Vision went from about 20/100 to 20/15 left eye, 20/20 right eye.

But, he did say it would hasten my need for reading glasses. I can stumble through most up-close things now but the reading glasses really help. I could probably use a touch up, too, as I notice my distant vision isn't quite as sharp as it was.

Getting old sucks. It's too bad the alternative is even worse.

I know a couple guys that have had Lasic and PRK.

Most guys are very happy with the results. Most of them end up with a slight prescription in their shooting glasses to help with the front sight when they hit their mid-40s.

My wife had Lasic a couple years ago and is very happy.

I can not have Lasic as the Air Force says Lasic and being on flight status is a no-go. However PRK is ok. Time will tell.
