I have no sources to point ya too

but illegal as hell since a booby trap is indiscriminate.

could be a cop, a little kid or a robber that gets it....

mostly wondering about fences and the concealment of barbed wire or something to keep people out of yards . it was a conversation i was having with someone who is having troubles with thieves in his yard .
so i was thinking a little wire might put an end to his woes . but if its against the law then ill keep pressuring him to get a dog already .

    18-12-106. Prohibited use of weapons.

    (1) A person commits a class 2 misdemeanor if:
    (a) He knowingly and unlawfully aims a firearm at another person; or
    (b) Recklessly or with criminal negligence he discharges a firearm or shoots a bow and arrow; or
    (c) He knowingly sets a loaded gun, trap, or device designed to cause an explosion upon being tripped or approached, and leaves it unattended by a competent person immediately present

That rules out any type of explosive device or firearm. I'll have to do some additional digging, but I'm sure that deadfalls, punji pits, and the like are also no-nos.

Its a BIG NO NO. This happened back in the 90's, a guy booby traps his house or shed and killed a kid. He went to jail for a long time.

Don't see a problem with barbed wire. If he's going to do that, might as well just use razor wire though.

Topping a security fence with barbwire or razor wire is OK, (in plain sight) but hiding it/disguising it may get you into trouble.

Edit: Have him check his local city codes first, so he won't be violating any local ordinances.

Maybe something non-lethal would be OK? Like something that would pop out and hit them in the crotch if they tried to climb the fence.
