    Default Fnh Ps90

Howdy all! This thing has me a little intrigued right now. Seriously contemplating grabbing one. Does anybody have one? Any thoughts or whatever are welcome as well!

I found that they have a neat factor, but that is about as far as it goes.

Really? Do you own one? So you don't feel its a good shooter, or is it the odd round? What else would sway you away from one?

I have had the pleasure of shooting my friends quite a few times. It's not that I don't like it, just, for the price, I like a lot more things out there. Plus unless you get your SBR stamp, you have to get the odd looking 16" one. I don't know, like I said, it has the fun factor, but having an odd caliber that you won't have anything else in and that you will more than likely never have anything else in, kinda sucks. Now, if you get the 5/7 and get the AR conversion upper, that changes a few things. They are accurate to a point, that is all I have to say there. You are not looking at a "reach out and touch someone" kind of gun. All in all, it is fun to shoot, but completely impractical in every way. Don't take what I say as a no though, I have bought plenty of impractical guns just for the cool factor!

No, I completely hear what you're saying! I'm still a little leery of it. I need to find out whats all involved with the SBR stamp as well. I will admit that the "cool" factor comes into play for me with it. Just not sure if it's totally worth it. I'm also interested in an M6. I could have one of everything though lol. I appreciate you're input for sure!

If you are going for the cool factor, go with something that could be useful in some way. The latest "cool" gun I'm getting here soon is a Beowulf. Not completely rated under the wow factor, but enough for me to get one!

At work, we traded the 9mm Uzi for the 9mm MP5. That was definitely a trade up in quality and effectiveness. Then a few years ago, just before I changed jobs, we traded the MP5 for the P90. No complaint about the P90, but it wasn't a significantly better weapon and for the 25 to 75 yard shooting we did with it, the MP5 shot just as well and the ammunition was much cheaper. At the time, we transitioned from the 9mm P226 to a P229 in .357 Sig, which didn't make too much sense other than we shot FMJ from the MP5 and JHP ammo from our pistols.

Now that they have P90s, there has been talk about moving to the FN Five-Seven. I don't think it will ever happen. That agency is married to Sig Sauer.

If I won the lottery I might pick up a PS90, but I would much rather have an MP5 in .40 S&W. YMMV

I bought a PS-90TR a couple years ago and SBR'ed it. Fun little toy and plenty quiet with 55 gn bullets going under 1,000 fps and a 9mm can, but just a toy really.

I've had a PS90 for a few years now. I SBR'd it ASAP and it's a fun range toy... but that's about it. After talking to some folks who used the P90 on badguys it became clear that the 5.7 isn't a good round to take to a gun fight. Mine stays in my safe unless I'm going to the range with someone who wants to shoot it.

Ammunition is more expensive than 5.56. Magazines run near $50/each. Support equipment is hard to find (mag pouches, etc).

    On the other hand...

....It's got the cool guy factor covered.
