    Default questions and ideas ???

so the weather is gonna turn soon and the kids are back in school. witch means the ranges will be less crowded and trashed .
ok so we all know how annoying i can be about the range clean up stuff but im thinking about trying something different. maybe try to arrange a big clean up or 2 and maybe have a small friendly competition with prizes . i know ill get into trouble for this one (with the lady), but ill give away a rifle, some ammo and a few ordnance items . id also like it to be kinda a pot luck or cook out of some sort .if this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of let me know . also if this is gonna be another example of me wasting my time , energy and money ,please let me know and ill just keep my toys and continue to do things as i have .

thanks to coar15 , the mods and all its members for your continued support

Alex, I would definitely try and make it. Like everyone it will depend on time and place. What/where are you thinking

south site , pine junction , lefthand , squaw pass . it would depend on interest . so if its more denver area folks then left or squaw . if its more co springs folk then pine or south . i do want it to be a family event if possible. defiantly on a weekend and sooner than later (gun shows are about to be every week for me )

Alex, Like so many other things this is one of those where I think you would be better off picking a site and date and those that can make it will and those that cant will wish they did.

    Thanks for getting this going!

You are the man, a lot more dedication to making things better for the shooting community than most would even think of putting in. Given my current joke of a schedule I might be down to just blow off a Sat/Sun. Hope you're only thinking about giving away a Mosin or something though. I know it has been discussed year after year in another thread but maybe a two day or family bbq kind of thing would get some folks and some resources for you.

What kind of contest? Amount of bags filled? Would there be a roll out?

it would be some kind of pistol or rifle contest AFTER we clean up .
so im thinking oct 8 or 9 , and the day would be something like this
    8-11 clean up
11-3 food ,shooting and trading (yes this would be a good time to bring random gun stuffs )
3-4 hand out goodies and wrap up for the day

    things id need volunteers for
    help hauling away trash
    target set up
    contest judges
    a good range officer

things ill provide (so far )
    a table
    trash bags
    a few cases of water
    water for washing up
a few buckets for hulks and casings
a few prizes (yes including a rifle , most likely a pos or wall hanger . i aint got it like that so dont get your hopes up at all for an ar or ak)
some ammo for folks to shoot up (again dont expect a ton )
possibly some hot dogs but i have no grill .

if there are less than say 20 members that will actually show then its really not worth it for me to go through the effort . so you guys tell me , is it a go or should i forget about it ?
