Been lurking here for a couple of weeks -- figured I'd wait to post until I actually picked up an AR.
Thanks to reading user "Cameron"'s post a few days ago, I bought my Bushmaster M4A3 at Gander Mountain, had them pricematch to Sportsman's Wearhouse (From $930 to $890) and then got 20% back in the form of a gift card ($178). Used the gift card to pick up an extra Bushmaster 30rd mag (only .223 mag in the store), cleaning supplies, a crapload of sight-in and "Shoot-N-C" targets, and 400 rounds of military surplus ADCOM ammo (5.56x45 M855) for $4 box/20. The ADCOM was 1/2 price of the WWB 62 grain, so I figured it was worth a shot -- ammo was definitely overpriced at Gander, but I had that gift card that I wanted to get rid of. $950.xx after tax for all the above and 400 rounds seemed pretty good to me.
I spent tonight stripping it down and cleaning it. I'm planning to go up to the mountains on Saturday and put a couple hundred rounds through it. I've never shot an AR before, so it should be fun!
P.S. - Never used photobucket before, so I hope the pics show up. My roomate's cat likes to sniff our firearms whenever we pull them out.
