    Default Shootin' Den resurrected....

Hey guys, I haven't been posting here in quite awhile as I've been busy with other things, but I thought I'd drop by with some good news.....

As some of you guys know, the Shootin' Den closed in 2009 when it's owner died and his family decided to shut it down. Well, the good news is that it will be re-opening in the next couple of weeks...

My dad, Cal Johnson, was the general manager there for nearly 30 years and will be back in some capacity a couple of days per week. The store's new owner was able to drag him back from retirement kicking and screaming....

Anyway, the new owner is a former employee who knows the business real well and they'll be in the same shopping center where they were before. The Redstone center at Fillmore and I25.

Check it out if you guys get a chance!

Sadly yes..... I like the climate here, (I don't miss the snow and cold), but other than that, ugh..... Came here for my wife's job and in this economy I'm kinda stuck.

I hate this God forsaken hell hole and I want to come home....

    How have you been?

Good to hear from you, Greenscout. I've moved too (Down in New Mexico now) , though I come up for a weekend once or twice a month to see the family.

Lol! Well, you guys beat me to the punch! Yeah, I talked to my dad last night and he gave me the go ahead since they're open now.

I forgot that you knew Laura, Ginsue. But it's all good! Lets just spread the word and give em' as much business as we can!

I got a phone call from one of our members while he was in the store and Laura asked me through this member "What have you been doing to help me spread the word?" Of course, she was joking since one of our members was there because of me spreading the word. Then another member was there and said that he was told that MANY of our members had been stopping by (or, it might have been the same member on another visit).

I've got a stack of her business cards that I've been giving out @ work, etc. too.

I'd really like to see her do well. We definitely need more options here in the Springs.

Please do! My dad, Cal Johnson, has been gunsmithing since 1960. No shit, 51 years now. I'm pretty sure he is going to do a good bit of smithing work for the Shootin' Den.
