    Default Law I'd enact...

So thinking about it, and I know it would go against certain laws and "rights" but I think this is pretty important since our current system is flawed. Here is what currently happens:
Illegal comes into America, is caught, jailed (at tax payers expense) and deported (again at tax payers expense) and put on a list of not-allowed in. Next time they come in again banned again for 10 years. They can keep on trying and keep getting jailed at cost to you and me.
    My proposal:
1st Offense: Banned 5 years, no jail, just deported, home country notified.
    2nd Offense: Banned for life.
3rd Offense: Held as war criminal and punished for crimes against the American people- IE: Death sentence carried out within 6 months.
Harsh I know, but it would deter them from continuously coming in illegally and not going about it the right way.
Also, to add: if you knowingly and willingly commit a crime against a legal US citizen you are immediately put on death row with the express lane.
Thoughts? I know this sounds harsh, but it's to the point where it's drowning us, we have too many leeching off the system and getting a slap on the wrist. I'm tired of illegals getting 3 hots and a cot on my dime. Maybe if we made it so hostile for them to come here they'd do it the right way. And I would make it so you have to be proficient in English to become a citizen, none of this bi-lingual crap. And if you have children that want to go to school here, they learn English, no teaching in Spanish unless it's a Foreign language class.

How about stopping them from coming in at all. The US is the only 1st world country that has a porous border. I can't even imagine another country allowing the southern border situation we have here.

If you are here illegally you would immediately be deported. Then you can't get back in because we would actually control the border.

Europe has fluid borders. No more border check points there either.

Completely against the 6th ammendment. One of the biggest problems we have is politicians play games with the constitution as it is.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Just look at europe my friend no visa's at all, just passport and go on your marry way. I have first hand knowledge of this. Heck I have only been stopped at two country crossings there, germany into switzerland and italy into austria. I have driven all over europe and most times it is like driving between states. Pretty porous if you ask me.

I agree, we need to secure the border, but it's so bad right now it's almost impossible to fix with our current budget.

So what you're saying is they have the same rights as US Citizens? I like to think that the 6th applies to US Citizens, not invaders from a foreign country. Look at how many people are in this country illegally and then look at the crimes they commit. Let's not forget, 70% of MS-13 currently in prison are illegals. I'd rather they not be in my jails eating and sleeping on my dollar, I'd rather them be gone... as in gone from existence. I'm sure they will do their best to uphold my rights in Iran! Why should we be different in that regard?

I disagree. The fact is that our current budget is chock full of welfare programs not just to citizens, but illegals, and even worse to foreign countries.

We could have the southern border secured in a couple of months if we really wanted to.

There is an English test as part of the citizenship process already. I can't attest to how hard it is as I was English so I sailed through it, but it tests reading, writing and speaking English.

One thing we need and it's been promised by Bush and never given to us (point for Nynco - it's BUSH's fault) is that we need to put military on our borders. We are one of the very few countries in the world where police maintain the border and not the military. I say that we stop trying to solve the worlds problems long enough to address some of ours first - so let's defend those borders like they need to be defended because it IS a war and it IS escalating.

Ranger, I don't know what it is, but you keep making these awesome points... I can't agree with you any more than I already do...
+1 for the rib on nynco! That is a big Bush mistake, not following through. I know a couple guys in AZNG that were in a Stryker unit that was put on the border to "Augment the Border Patrol mission" and they said their ROE was a freaking joke. Everyone has heard the stories of BP agents getting killed on the border by these drug cartel members and Mexican Army personnel escorting people and drugs. Well the Arizona NG troops ROE was this: Do not engage illegal border crossing personnel unless you have a direct threat on the US side. Basically, if they shoot at you from Mexico you cannot fire into the foreign country. What!? Sounds to me like they should have said- if you see hostiles vaporize hostiles (old homage to Navy SEALs starring our pal Charlie Sheen). If it were me, I'd have all the US Army Armor units down there- see if they want to cross the border with a 25mm Bushmaster M242 chain gun pointed at them. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M242]
Fix it, then we can focus on the more important things, like when Miley Cyrus comes to Denver or which celebrity to mourn over after an O.D.
