That is just crazy. To bad for Denver.
Can someone please explain the rationale behind this? I'm genuinely curious.
As far as that goes, I think this illustrates the desperate need for drastic reform and objective standards (vs the unaccountable rulings based on the whim of a board.) I don't think its unreasonable for an inappropriate use of force to result in permanent termination.
That's just delusional. There has to be a huge hiring pool that DPD could dip into to fill those positions and retain some sense of professionalism."I talked to the two officers," said Nick Rogers, President of the police officers union. "And they are as happy as a person can be."
He said the firings were "based on a political outcry."
I am disappointed in this decision...
“Every good citizen makes his country's honor his own, and cherishes it not only as precious but as sacred. He is willing to risk his life in its defense and is conscious that he gains protection while he gives it.” Andrew Jackson
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'
That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.
Instead of patrol duties, they are running a desk. No driving around, no seeing people on the streets. Fine with me! ( After a few years, they will quit.)
When you resign, you get no pension benefits. The city saves a fortune that way. It's all about the money! There is nothing this country you cannot buy. Except me...
heh. now reverse that, have two regular guys attack and beat up a cop on camera and see what happens to them.
disgusting. I hope they get really bad paper cuts that get infected.
