Any felonies? Any DV convictions? Recent drug or alcohol abuser? Ever committed on a court order? I got to believe he's a prohibited person.

Last night I saw some of the news reports and one station was talking to this guy's neighbors at the hotel or wherever he was staying at. They were saying something like, "Yeah, and he had a lot of GUNS." "Boy, he sure liked his GUNS." The media of course focused on that and spun and towed the same old line that all gunowners are wackos. It's subtle propaganda but it's been effective for decades.

Alot of you guys have alot of guns. Hell I'd trust Steve and Mary to be around my kids and they have alot of guns. You won't see the news talking about the 100s of thousands of people that own alot of guns, and are fine upsatnding people. But they'll beat the horse about the anomaly, bad guy that has lots of guns and does something like this.

I just read on one of my sweepstakes forums, a lady calling for stricter control on hand guns and automatic weapons because of The Bailey shooting. I pointed out in my gentle way, that schools are open season because guns are not allowed, the guy wasn't legally able to own a gun, and mentioned that an automatic weapon has never been used in a school shooting.

When someone starts throwing stuff into the equation that has nothing to do with what's going on it really pisses me off. The Columbine shooting was done with shotguns and 9mm handguns. The shooting in Canada a few weeks ago was done with a pistol caliber carbine. The shooting in Bailey was done with a .357 revolver and a Glock. The kid that shot the principal in Wisconsin used a .22 handgun. He had a shotgun with him when he walked in but it was taken away from him without a shot fired. The guy that killed the Amish kids used a shotgun and a handgun. Do you see a trend here? No one was using evil "assault rifles" in these shootings.
