I don't think DMV even gives you the paper sticker to put on the back any longer.

You're over-thinking this way too much.

some ffls (Gander, Sportsmans, Bass) will not sell if your address on the 4473 does not match the address on your state Identification/DL/CCW
and I have seen people get turned away for it.

    just as an FYI

Must be an internal policy thing.

Easy fix for that anyway. Just make sure the address on the 4473 matches your ID. Just saying...

For all the years I ran my shop I didn't care. I told customers to put the correct address on the 4473. Didn't really care about the address on the DL. CBI/NICS don't care as long as the 4473 is correct.

Ok, so if I understand, even if i had just mailed my change of address form to DMV, and printed my new address on the back of my DL, I'd be good to go so long as I put the new address on the 4473. Sorry if I'm paranoid, but if I were to get denied on a gun check, I could possibly be in hot water with my employer.

As long as you've done what's required by law you should be GTG.

But...how is your employer gonna know you were denied?

Because I'm purchasing from a fellow employee/management who is an FFL, and my job requires direct contact with firearms pretty much the whole time.

Make the 4473 correct and explain it to him if the need arises.

you should be GTG, only thing i will say is just depends on what dealer you go too. corporate companies like bass pro, gander, dicks, sportsman's, ect... have extra policy within the company as fare as selling a gun all you need is an extra form of identification so either car registration, CCW, passport, anything that is government issued with the new address.

i worked at dicks sporting goods part time for the last three years if i got someone with an address not matching on the forum 4473 i just ask them for a second forum of id with the current new address its pretty simple i could not transfer the firearm until i had that information! Its not a denied, just a road block until the correct Identification is provided.

will you get denied cause of your address change i would highly doubt it, but CBI can be weird at times usually when its an address issue they ask to check the id again and resubmit if it even comes up!

Just bought a new .44 mag at 5280 and they didn't seem too bothered by mine. My new address was written on the back but has since worn all most all the way off. Didnt even question it, although Im not sure it matters anyway.
