For those still kicking around the idea of dropping in a forward set sear trigger kit in to the M&P, don't wait. Rob at Bower's Tactical just dropped one in my M&P Pro, plus a reset assist mechanism.

Even though the Pro series is supposed to have better triggers, they still can be improved upon. Work Rob did made it as 1911 like as you can probably make a striker fired pistol. Very little take up with the crisp break of a quality 1911 trigger.

At Apek's recommendation, Rob kept the stock trigger return spring that set the trigger pull around the 3lb mark. If you use the trigger return spring that comes in the FSS kit, pull weight is in the 3.75-4lb range according to Apek.

If you don't mind my asking how much was the kit/install from Bower's? I've been pondering getting mine done.

I did the install on mine myself! It is the best mod I have ever done to a handgun period! I would not hesitate to do it again. If I decide to get a 9c it will have the apex stuff on it before it even hits the range!

It was $195.43 out the door. FSS kit was $159.95 plus $22.00 for the RAM kit, which is in line with pricing at Brownells and Apex. I didn't look at the detailed receipt, but appears Rob installed it for free.

I know a number of people who have done it themselves, but easier for me to just drop it off instead of me chasing small springs around the garage.

    Default Range report

Took the M&P out next to my G19 today. I know I should be really comparing it to the G17, but I don't one, so there!!

Anyway. 7 yards. 124 GR Winchester FMJ. Wasn't pulling the trigger as fast as I could, but was't taking 10 seconds to aim either. Just a steady speed. I shot 10 from the M&P and then immediately shot 10 from the G19. Reloaded and did the same again. I consider myself a very average shooter!!

I was really happy with the results and am REALLY pleased with the M&P. I have about 200 rounds thru it in the last two days. I shoot it right up there with my 1911's. I can see how they are compared.

    Thought I'd share!

The more you shoot that M&P, the better it will get!

I need to add these parts to my M&P 9C. The trigger pull is not bad but you can't even feel the trigger reset, very mushy.

Yeah, that about describes my trigger on the Pro. I'm still learning about trigger reset but you could feel it if you know what you are looking for, but with the RAM, the reset has a more pronounced feel and you can hear it

I had a 9c that I stole from my wife. Absolutely amazing gun. We fired quite a few rounds through it, even using crappy steel cased ammo, and it never hiccuped. It was the most accurate and reliable gun I've ever shot in its size and caliber. The thing that made me get rid of it, was the grip. Yeah, yeah, I know 99% of people love the ergos of the pistol, however for my hands and grip, it seemed akward to hold, no matter which backstraps I used. If your hands work with the M&P, GO FOR IT! It is an amazing pistol. Using Tulammo, I could keep a full magazine in the head of an M9 target standing at 25 yards firing at a decent pace. After getting rid of the M&P, I tried a gen 4 G23 (lousiest pistol I've ever owned), an LC9(good gun, hard to shoot), a 1911 officer (Jam...Jam...Jam) and finally ended up with an XDM .45 compact. The Springer has been the only pistol yet that I felt was on par with the M&P, with a grip that works for me.
You want to be a martyr, I want to make you one.

I love my 1911's, no question, BUT, I am now 73 with arthritis in my hands - very few working joints left in my fingers. HOWEVER, I tried an M&P Shield in 9mm. It is my new concealed carry friend. Fits my hands, easy smooth trigger, etc. etc. My son and grandson now each own one, too!
