I know... I was joking with you. You know, attempt at a humorous statement intended to provoke laughter for the purpose of socializing.

    maybe you've heard of it?

I wasn't issued a sense of humor. If the Marine Corps had wanted me to laugh they would have told me to.

It works both ways. I've done it.
Very true. Nobody complained in the dot bomb years, nor did they show any loyalty. It was all about getting the most they could for themselves (greed?)... which is exactly what the company in question is doing right now, so how can you fault them? Back then demand was high, supply of talent was low. Price goes up. Now, demand has tapered off and the talent pool is a lot higher. Downward pressure on wages.

    Willing to relocate to Kalifornia?

Looking for a good senior sysadmin or two (and possibly a good junior sysadmin) in Palo Alto... be one of the first to see the Muppets movie this fall too! — at Disney Interactive Media Group.

Few months back we lost one of the six people in our department, were told no raises (4th year in a row) and that we had to tight up on everything and a $75 increase in our monthly health insurance premiums (among other "cost saving" changes). The next day our internal fiscal report was released, we alone posted over 20% profits (5 mill budget, 7 mil revenue).

    So it goes

You know, a buddy of mine who works there just sent me the same job listing.

I know hosting.com is hiring a few IT folks in Denver, I've got a few contacts there (former owner + their IT auditor) I can pass a resume through if needed...

Moving to another country is kind of extreme, don't you think?
