Very true. Nobody complained in the dot bomb years, nor did they show any loyalty. It was all about getting the most they could for themselves (greed?)... which is exactly what the company in question is doing right now, so how can you fault them? Back then demand was high, supply of talent was low. Price goes up. Now, demand has tapered off and the talent pool is a lot higher. Downward pressure on wages.

Few months back we lost one of the six people in our department, were told no raises (4th year in a row) and that we had to tight up on everything and a $75 increase in our monthly health insurance premiums (among other "cost saving" changes). The next day our internal fiscal report was released, we alone posted over 20% profits (5 mill budget, 7 mil revenue).
