Pretty sure that'll eat Beemers for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

When I was at the dealership getting my oil changed a week or two ago, there were 3 or 4 of those Vettes on the floor. I was trying to figure out how to haul firewood in one cuz I seriously considered trading my Silverado.

Default Since we are dreaming about cars we could never drive or afford.

The R8 GT is powered by a revised 5.2L V10 FSI engine that puts out 560 horsepower, 35 more than the R8 5.2 quattro. The V10 is mated to the R tronic sequential manual transmission. 0-62 mph is reached in 3.6 seconds and the R8 GT has a top speed of 199 mph. The R8 GT is also 180 pounds lighter than the R8 Coupe 5.2 quattro thanks to the use of more carbon fiber. The rear hatch, spoiler and diffuser are all made of carbon fiber.

But the tires are shredded in 15 minutes. Thankfully the fuel runs out in 12.

Except that the Camaro is a Holden (Australian) with a Voxhaull (English) motor in it built in Canada (Canukish).

On the other hand it'll probably handle the twisties as well as the Bimmer for half the cost (although I'd rather have the BMW ... used to work on them for a living and they're a better car than anything GM has put out in 4 decades).

Also if you're one of those "gotta be made in USA" types ... BMW builds some models (I believe all their Crossover models) in Spartanburg South Carolina.

Honestly if I had the time/money/workshop space, I'd pick up an early (round taillight) 2002 and stuff in the drive train from an E30 M3. I'd be perfectly happy with that even though you could out run it with the Camaro.
