M1a Switching Stocks

Just picked up a new M1a with a synthetic stock and I'm switching to to a walnut one. When I tried to replace the trigger group, I couldn't get the trigger guard to rotate into place. Seems to be hanging up. Is this common? Easy fix or do I need to take it to a gunsmith?

all the hardware there?

what do you mean by 'hanging up' ?

did it properly go in/out on the synthetic?

there is some resistance locking the trigger guard in.

The wood stock is used with all the hardware. It is in excellent condition. The trigger group locks down fine with the synthetic stock, but on the wood it will not rotate into the lock position. It only goes about 60% of the way down. It seems to not align up. However the trigger group does go all the wall in and sits flush.

You did the right thing by stopping, most people will just try to close the TG and bend it.
Receiver is sitting down fully into the stock correctly?
Nothing serious, you just need some fitting work done for the trigger plate to the stock. The fit between the trigger plate to receiver is a critical fit and will vary a touch from rifle to rifle because of variances in stocks. If you don't understand what needs to be fitted don't try it yourself, it is easy to take too much.
