Sure would be nice if there was a sticky that us older guns (very mature guys) could check to see what the hell all these modern abbreviations really mean. When I see FOBBIT, FOB, COMS, DISA, XNET, DFAC I realize that I am really behind the times. Only one that I recognize is MOS and that's only because I had earned one of those while in the U.S. Army MANY MANY years ago.

I now wonder if some "youngster" is going to suggest that I just go back to my recliner and take a nap and not be so concerned about all this modern shit (terminology).

4 of those apply to your time or a couple were a little later. Every era had it's own acronyms for the same thing. FOBBIT was a REMF in my day. FOB was a fire base and FOB was in use. COMS are communications, DISA and XNET are for the Computer side of things that drive the current Military and DFAC you know as the Chow hall.
