    Default Broomfield

Can anyone suggest a place to shoot near Broomfield? I got an email yesterday for a guy looking for such a place.

    Thanks

Lefthand Canyon, IF He dares. Other than that our spot in St. Vrain canyon isn't that far away from Broomfield.

I-25 to Colorado Hwy 66. Take Hwy 66 west toward Lyons. Go through Lyons. At the fork in the road where you have to go either right (on US36) or left (on Colorado Hwy 7), take a left and follow Colorado Hwy 7 13.4 miles. The shooting spot is just after milepost 19 and just before the junction of Colorado Hwy 72. There is an emergency call box across the street. Park across from the call box. Climb the embankment and the shooting area is just ahead.

The good citizens of Broomfield built their PD a fantastic shooting facility FWIH. I'm sure that it's available to the responsible, gun-owning, taxpaying public when the police aren't using it....NOT!

Their SWAT team only uses it twice a month. Your tax $$$ at work.

By the way, are those SIG 551/552's?

As with most PD ranges, it is restricted to LE and MIL due to the City's insurance company. NOT because of the PD's policies. The range is also in constant use by the rest of the department as well as surrounding agencies.

I believe USMCO3 already addressed this in a previous thread.
