Slow shipping and pretty lousy customer service is my experience with them. One of the front sight ears were cracked on the barrel I bought from them and getting them to exchange it was a hassle. After they finally did, I didn't have any additional problems with their product.

No, this was a few years ago. I bought parts to build a rifle for my father-in-law for Christmas.

I've had a bunch of random M1S parts and never a problem. My 9mm is a M1S upper and bolt.

I have worked on 2 barrels from them that were too tight on headspace. They looked like they were machined with a rock.
I would definitely have headspace checked and don't expect fit and finish to be overly great.

J&T dist. been using them since late 80's as needed. They use wilson bbls and have for years, overall good CS.

Built many a kit from Model 1 as well as J&T. I haven't seen a difference in parts from either. I would get which ever one you can get at the best price.

Customer service and shipping have been great.
One upper was missing a part and was next day shipped to me.

Other than that never a real problem.

Model 1 get parts from lowest bidder manufacturer. Manufacturer varies depending on best deal. They are sometimes shipping RRA, Bushy, FN, LMT and CMT parts.

Most big name manufacturer's(assemblers) are now getting a lot of parts from China. Just because you are paying more money for a name brand means nothing.

(Remember getting M4'gery kits from J&T for $349 just a few years ago?? Those were the days)
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.
