Default Driver flashes handgun at another driver on Lyons highway

I was alarmed to read who the "victim" was. But I was glad to see that the reader comments revealed some sanity.

This reader comment says it all:

"In this case, macho man went to a gunfight without a gun. And I have no sympathy for him even if he did probably wet his pants when he saw what he'd gotten himself into. Hell. Get out of your car and storm up on me when my family's in my car and see id the same thing doesn't happen."

Of course the "victim" followed the car for several more miles and never got a license plate number.

Probably enough "stupid" on both sides to last a lifetime.

When I read this article, I too thought it seemed to be reversed. Obviously we don't know the entire situation, but its sounds more like a guy had a case of "road rage," approached a car and the guy in the car displayed a gun likely in an attempt to defend himself. Given the few "facts" we have at this point, it appears to me that the "victim" described in the article was actually the aggressor. However, the person that displayed the gun should have immediately called police and reported the situation. By not calling the police, either more happened than what we know, the guy didn't have the gun legally or have a CCW, or all of the above.

I agree with Carl (Bailey Guns), likely enough stupidity on both sides.

I honestly don't know. I've always had my CCW when I've carried in the car. Can anyone else more knowledgeable chime in on this? I'd like to know too.

Colorado law allows one to carry in your car for "Personal protection while traveling."

    Correct. No permit required.

Both of these idiots need a serious recalibration of their aggression circuits. Dipshit A should never have got out of the car to confront Dipshit B. Dipshit B should have simply driven away when Dipshit A got out of the car, instead of brandishing a (apparently unchambered, therefore useless) gun.

i also see the "victim" as the actual Perp in this case.
