    I would (and do) remove my weapons from my vehicles at night, regardless of if they are parked in the garage or in the street. Too much risk for my taste not to.

    I think the question becomes "Did I Do everything to prevent my weapon from being stolen and used in a crime?" If you can say yes, you are good.

    Like that officer, I keep my ballistic vest, ballistic gear, a portable radio, a vehicle mounted radio, two bags of work supplies, my work "bug out" gear, two firearms in cases with extra ammo, a ram, a houligan, a case of water, some yummy MRE's and a coffee pot with coffee supplies in the back of my Trailblazer. I'm NOT going to hump all that in and out everyday, so no, I guess I'm not doing everything in my power to ensure it isn't stolen.

    From the article, "The sedan's keys are also missing." Does that mean he left the keys in it?
