    Default FM Hi-Power

Just picked up an Argentine HP (FM90) at a gunshow, and I think it's going to "relieve" my two BHPs (a MkI "C" model & a MkIII) of shooting duty- maybe even carry. The outside finish is ok, but has the typical light wear marks of most of these imported pistols. Once I cleaned the bore, however, I was amazed that it looks almost new. She shoots pretty nice with a decent trigger pull comparable to my two BHPs. All in all I'm pretty pleased with the new acquisition. WB

I've seen a few of those Argentine Hi-Power pistols. You're right about the finish...sometimes can be a little rough and I recall seeing a few tool marks here and there. But they always seemed to function well...just like the Sistema Colts. One of my all time favorites was an Argentine Air Force Sistema. Like a dumbass, I traded it for something or sold it.

I am a person who instinctively dislikes copies. The Taurus/Berettas, the
Japanese Brownings, the Uberti/Colts, etc. You get the idea. However- objectively speaking, I think the Argentine Hi-Powers are excellent pistols. I have never quite taken one "to the edge", such as sending one to Novaks for mods, but like any other good pistol after 1000 rnds or so I would happily carry it.

Unfortunately the later M95s came with a "slab sided" slide. Not quite as graceful as the original. Good for heavier loads though.
