Um, how is removing the parking meters going to change anything?
Wouldn't it have been better to just fumigate them, to ensure no cockroach infestation comes from the tunnels?

While explosions are more satisfying, it would be a bit more disruptive to daily life... and overkill for cockroaches. Better to just quietly deal with the problem, IMHO.

I think they're removing the parking meters AND making the spots "no parking" zones so nobody can sit there for hours at a time.
