    Default Nikon Micro Lens

I'm looking for a Nikon AF Micro-Nikkor 105mm F/2.8 lens. Not the VR or AIS versions. Anyone have one gathering dust in the closet or know of a good used camera shops around?

I can't help you with your search, but good luck.

I just bought a D7000 and need to start thinking about lenses soon. I basically just have the kit lenses that came with the D40 I bought a few years ago.

There's a used camera shop off Hampden, west of Santa Fe. You can see the back side of it, Camera Trader(?) I think it is? I sold my F3's and lenses there several years ago. There's a used Corvette dealer on the corner there right before it, I think that's where you turn.

Actually, I blame you Carl, for my looking at new bodies and lenses. Saw your camera in the FS section. Did some research that snowballed. Now I'm looking at a D5000 body.

I have a Coolpix5400 that is my favorite point and shoot. Also have a D1H (picked up from another forum member) that was my first DSLR. It's a little big to horse around too much but a great camera to learn on.

Thanks RD, I'll take a look.

I just have a D3100, and it's more than I'm able to figure out. I'll be damned if I can figure out how to turn the on-camera flash on when I want to use some fill flash.

The top/front flash button doesn't do it? Are you wanting to adjust the flash intensity? How about a good flashlight?

I feel your pain on the camera thing. It's addicting. Like nice guns.

Made it down to the Camera Trader today. Interesting place. Wish I knew more about camera bits. It doesn't look like they EVER throw anything away.

There were some lenses of interest and though I'd pass them along. Don't quote me on pricing.

    • Nikon Micro 105mm f/4-$275.
    • Nikon AF-s DX Zoom 55-200mm f/4-5.6 ED-$375
    • Nikon 70-300mm Zoom-?
There were about another dozen lenses, most all were manuals.

    Definitely worth a visit.

Not much help here either. Have a Micro Nikkor 85/3.5 VR and it gets a lot of use.

Back when I had my F3's my main workhorse lens was an 85mm f1.4 AIS, that was a helluva piece of glass! Freakin' huge, and I could damn near see in the dark with it.
