    Default Arabic writing found onplanes

Apparently Arabic writing has been found on the outside of some of Southwest Airline's planes. Weird part is its etched on with a chemical that's only visible when the plane heats up (its been found on engines and landing gear and other stuff that creates heat).

So the TSA finds it necessary to practically rape law-abiding travelers when they go through the security checkpoint, be them toddlers or elderly ladies, but they somehow miss people writing on planes with chemicals at the tarmac or depot?
    F*cking ridiculous.

    Yeah, that's not creepy.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

No, the creepy thought is that whatever chemical they're using is etching this stuff into the metal skin of the plane... so who's to say that it couldn't be used to eat away at the rivets and such?

    Interesting............

the video on the huffington post ( which I don;t trust as a news source most the time .. but the video was from a local LA station ) says the writing was in dirt and soot on the aircraft....

both articles elude to some "chemical process" yet give no real details ...

I'm calling BS on this "chemical process".

I think we are seeing the arabic equivalent of "kilroy was here" written on a dirty aircraft.

yeah, the media is full of chemistry experts...

if it's something that shows up when the skin of the plane gets hot (like when the APU is powered up), then it could be something like LEMON JUICE (remember the old invisible ink as a kid?)
I think that was a reaction with the paper tho- so probably wouldn't work on a painted surface...

but you get the idea- just something that changes color when it gets above a certain temperature.
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ, we are the III%, CIP2, and some other catchphrase meant to aggravate progreSSives who are hell bent on taking rights away...

That was the other part that made little sense to me ...

with the exception of leading edges of the wings / nose the skin of the aircraft will COOL not heat in flight ( well unless it is in the jet blast of the engine or the exhaust of the APU of course) I suppose the engine nacelles gets warm also.

This is stupid. Anyone with that level of access to the aircraft who wanted to damage it could simply use mercury.

Some of this in engine nacelles, or on landing gears struts, or just about anywhere in the baggage area, near the wing roots, would eventually cause failure.

    Note to self:

Keep mercury away from my AR.
