    Default Used Aimpoint M2 value

An acquaintance of mine is selling a used Aimpoint M2 with QRP mount. He was originally asking $400 but has stressed to me that it's VERY obo. He doesn't need to sell it but has no need for it either. I'm thinking of offering him $325. Is that a fair price?

A new Aimpoint PRO, think if it as an M2.5, runs $410 with a mount. A used M2 for $400 isn't a great deal. A PRO has better battery life. $325 is an ok deal but the M2 is an old design in the great scheme of things. I'd just put the cash in a PRO.

Unless it has a LaRue mount or something like that, I probably wouldn't pay more than $300 for it. They are awesome little optics though. I have an M2 on my rifle that's been through a tour in Iraq, and it still works just fine and holds zero for me. And while the PRO does have better battery life, according to Aimpoint, the M2 has a battery life of 10000 hours of constant use. That's over a year. Even longer if you switch it off between uses
